Three Quarter Tank Rule

Singapore registered cars must have at least 3/4 tank of petrol when departing Singapore. Hybrid motor vehicles, as well as Compressed Natural Gas vehicles with petrol tanks are also subject to compliance of the 3/4 tank ruling.

Failure to do so constitutes an offence. On settlement of the offence, you will have to turn back to top up your fuel if you wish to continue on the journey.

Exit Requirements - Singapore

All visitors need to go through immigration clearance when they depart from Singapore. At the immigration counter, the visitor must present the Embarkation portion of the Disembarkation/Embarkation Card together with his travel document to the Immigration Officer. Do ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months before departure. Visitors are advised to check their passports/travel documents for exit endorsements before they leave the checkpoint. 

Entrance/Exit Requirements - Malaysia

At the immigration counter, the visitor must fill up and present the Disembarkation/Embarkation Card together with his travel document to the Immigration Officer. Do ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months before departure. Visitors are advised to check their passports/travel documents for exit endorsements before they leave the checkpoint. 

The toll charges are as follows.

Singapore

• Via Causeway (Woodlands) departing from Singapore SGD 1.20
• Via Second Link (Tuas) departing from and arriving in Singapore SGD 3.70 

Malaysia (it is advisable to prepare some Malaysian Ringgit)

• Via Causeway (Woodlands) when arriving in Malaysia RM 2.60
• Via Second Link (Tuas) departing from and arriving in Malaysia RM 8.80
• Along the North South highway there would be quite a few toll station it would cost about RM 100 to and return from Genting Highland.

Toll payments in Singapore are by CashCard only. Payment for tolls in Malaysia is by cash & Touch&GO card.
